Journal Entry: Sun Jul 20, 2003, 9:29 AM
It seems as if everything has it's own club now, why not Sega? I mean, has there ever been a bad Sega game? Ah, shut up, I like them all. Anyway, I'll fav any not-so-typical sega related art (I will be the judge of what is or isn't typical) if you send me a note (there will be complications with watching all of the members).

Bullet; Red Rules so far
-Send a note if you'd like to join
-Put our icon in your sig or journal (put iconsega-freak between :s)
-No anti-nintendo/konami/whatever, that's stupid.

Bullet; Red July 20, 2003: Meep sowwy bout the lack of updates here x.x I have been busy and so has Flamez. I have updated the members list

Bullet; Red June 7, 2003: Hey this is lettin all you members know that I will be gone to Ocean City from June 8th to the 13th so I wont have any computer access for that time ^^" I hope you guys have fun while I am gone ^^

Bullet; Red June 2, 2003:Eh, if you don't see your name in the list, please re-send your note. ._.; I had problems with deviator, I did. Anyway, I bought sega smash pack for gba and, well, I am unimpressed. I say it's THQ's fault, they didn't try hard enough. Golden Axe was fine, but they ruined ecco. I mean, it had great music, and they didn't take thier time to put it all in. In fact, all of the music was replaced with the music from when ecco is traveling through time, and that gets annoying. They re-did some stuff from sonic spinball and only have one level theme, but I don't really mind. You get the same feel from the other music anyway. It was cheap though, and Golden Axe was worth it.

Bullet; Red May 27, 2003: I finished the icon, yay! It took a while to do, the programs were screwing up and the file was too big. Luckily, I have time, I redid the last 5 frames in paint due to idraw screwing up and I cut down the size by only putting the animated parts in the frame. So, it's done, yeah. I'm also putting up a contest, even though we don't have many members. It will be over June 30th, so there is lots of time. I need some volunteers for judges, so if you aren't going to participate I can use you as a judge.

Bullet; Red May 24, 2003: Ok, the club is just starting, so I'm still working on stuff. I'll be adding a color cycle to the icon (like in some genesis games with the Sega logo), but only when I find an hour or two. Why? It took me an hour to do a 4 color cycle, this is around 8. Yeah, it's really boring to do also. If you somehow found your way here, feel free to send a note and I'll add you as a member when I log in here. I'll hold contests once I get some members.

Bullet; Red Contest | June 30, 2003
Our first contest will be Sega Crossovers. Cross one Sega game into another, or mix Sega games. The rest is entirely up to you from what games you choose to what art style you use. I wouldn't want to intrude on your creativity with too many guidelines.
The rules are:
-Sega games only, and just because it was on a Sega system doesn't mean it is a Sega game.
-Keep it clean, pg-13 at most. If you are doing, say, a Shenmue and Virtua Fighter crossover, include violence if you have to, but what we don't want if Pai on Nozomi action. I probobly don't have to worry about this, but just in case...
-There are these things out there called sprites, and guess what? Some older Sega games use them. You must not, you didn't make them, so you aren't about to enter them in a contest. I shouldn't have to worry about this either.

Dreamcast was really the foot of this console generation we're currently in, so I wouldn't say it died because its purpose was competing with N64 and PS1... Were looking at 128bits vs. 64 and 32 if you line it up like that. SEGA really tends to be the first in several lines, which is bloody dangerous. When one is first in line, every other in the line is sure to kick up their system specs in order to better the first. That's pretty much what we saw happen to SEGA, for the second time. Basically it would take strength like Sony to safely be first in line without risking being overcome... That's no offense to SEGA, but they did take the risk. I've always respected them for daring to be first. So why would Sony be any safer if they were first in line? Prestiege and a larger following, of course. That could even lead into the important point that Sony is a big @$$ electronics company fueling a console, so of course any console they produce has a lot of support to fall back on...
*reads what I just said* Did that make any sense? What the hell am I rambling about? I'm pro-sega, I swear it!! *hides* c.c

Dreamcast died along with all of the other systems in it's generation. It was meant to go against ps1 and n64, not all of this new stuff. The same thing happened with saturn and sorta with genesis.

And yeah... sa1 was fun, yeah. Game informer gave saDX a 5/10 review just because it was a port. They don't seem to be able to think of old games as new ones, ya know? They say crazy taxi on gba sucked because it's on gamecube and stuff and they say roller coaster tycoon on x-box sucks because it's old (though they don't mind atari collections).

Yeah! Am I the only one who actually enjoyed Sonic Adventure 1? I'm quite glad to see it hit the cube... Kind of something I wanted to see ever since GCN's arrival.
    =candlegirl:iconcandlegirl: Jun 7, 2003, 6:07:48 AM
I -still- loved the Dreamcast, its just a pity that it died the way it did. But still I am happy to see Sonic games on the Gamecube *waits for any to appear on the PS2*

It's a SEGA club, not a Dreamcast club... *picks up Saturn and Dreamcast* Group hug!!
Seriously though, I'd like to join. Long time SEGA fan, short time Deviant.
